Description: Delicate, membranous,
monostromatic reddish-brown fronds, becoming pink and shiny upon
drying; to 150 mm long (occasionally to 1 m), with a very short
stipe from basal holdfast.
Habitat: Usually epiphytic on larger algae,
particularly
Fucus serratus, mid-intetidal to shallow subtidal, spring to autumn, widely
distributed, common.
